Position Description: Employees in this position lead, assign and work with electrician who install, test, troubleshoot, modify and repair various aircraft electrical system, associated wiring to support certification and delivery for new airplanes. Work is typically accomplished in the factory, flight line and on live planes. Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze work area using on line computer system (e.g., Airplane Assist,) and assign work based on priority and schedule. Locate work area using drawings, Installation Plan (IP), OSIP (Out Of Sequence Installation Plan), NCO (Non Conformance Order), non-conformance records, rejection tags, rapid revisions, or other paperwork that specifies airplane number, section number and three point location. Obtain and verify detail parts, standards and assemblies were issued correctly and are free of visible defects. Coordinate changes to aircraft to reconfigure for customer and\/or vendor requirements. Perform lock out, tag out, try out equipment for safety. Remove, replace, adjust and\/or install equipment racks, power panels and various aircraft components\/assemblies. Remove, replace, adjust and\/or install test equipment racks and various components\/assemblies (e.g., black boxes, servos, valves). Select drills, reamers and\/or countersinks for pilot and full size holes. Disassemble, clean, de-burr prior to installing fasteners. Apply sealant, alodine, primer, adhesives and special finishes. Assist with bond and ground testing to ensure electrical ground between aircraft systems (e.g., structure, components, wiring). Torque fasteners and install lock wire or cotter pin through nut, bolt or other fasteners. Energize various systems to perform a variety of functional tests to verify integrity of the system (e.g., electronic rack, lighting systems). Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner. Assist engineering by evaluating, maintaining, updating, and monitoring various aircraft system, and associated wiring. Support and coordinate with engineering, flight test groups and vendors to determine most efficient methods to install, troubleshoot, repair, perform functional tests, and collect data on aircraft system, and associated wiring. Develop methods and procedures to correct malfunctions in electrical system when methods and procedures have not been established. Maintain personal and tool certifications. Qualifications Typical Education: High school graduate or GED preferred. Required\u00a0Skills\u00a0and Experience: Minimum three (3) years directly related work experience in performing complete operational testing of electrical systems. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to read and interpret production illustrations, wiring diagrams, and\/or schematics. Minimum one (1) year directly related work experience in removing, replacing, adjusting, and\/or installing test equipment racks and various components\/assemblies (e.g. black boxes, servos, valves). Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of electrical test equipment such as digital multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, vector network analyzer and oscilloscope. Preferred Skills and Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience working around live aircraft and flight operations. Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience with commercial and\/or military aircraft. Minimum one (1) year of demonstrated knowledge and experience with aircraft assembly.
