Use computing equipment to obtain information (e.g., engineering drawings, specifications). Obtain kitted (pre-picked) detail parts, standards and assemblies. Select proper tooling kit (e.g., holding fixtures, drill motors, reamers) to perform work on parts/assemblies, as required. Operate overhead crane to locate parts/assemblies (e.g., flaptracks, landing gear beams) into position to perform assembly work, as required. Locate parts on assembly tools, mating parts and/or assemblies per drawing, W/O, or tooling instructions. Align parts to tool stops, matching pilot holes or by hand layout and secure in place using Clecos or clamps. Check for good edge margins and alignment. Shim parts as required. Drill, ream, and countersink full size holes in parts/assemblies in proper sequence and to correct size, per drawing, W/O or tooling instructions using power tools (e.g., drill motors, Quackenbush tool, Cleco motors) as required. Hone/ream features in parts using pneumatic tools for installation of bushings and bearings on parts/assemblies. Disassemble parts and deburr holes using deburring tools and files to prepare for installation of fasteners. Use solvents to clean surfaces prior to sealing or assembly. Install bushings into housings using arbor press, C-squeeze and/or hydraulic puller. Apply liquid nitrogen to facilitate installation of bushings, as required, per BAC specifications. Cold work holes to prepare for close tolerance fastener installation, as required. Perform surface/fay seal (e.g., BMS 5-95) on bushings/bearings and other part installations. Roller/anvil swage or ball stake bearings and bushings into housings. Install hardware on electrical assemblies. Use insertion tools to install wiring in plugs. Perform functional check of ground studs to ensure proper operations. Use multimeter and power supply to calibrate (WOW) Weight On Wheels sensor per specifications. Handle and dispose of hazardous material (e.g., sealants and solvents) in approved manner per (MSDS) Material Specification Data Sheets. Install fasteners per drawing using correct tools. Torque fasteners. Micro shave high rivets to meet drawing requirements. Apply sealant, alodine, primer, special finishes, as required by W/O, drawing or BAC specifications. Clean parts and identify by part marking. Present completed job or in-process checks to inspector at appropriate steps in sequence. Perform minor rework, as required. Contact team leader or supervisor when assistance is needed or when any problem arises. Maintain personal and tool certifications (e.g., bond and ground, crane handling, seal, LN2), as required.
