Responsible for the total operation of the store's Market Department including providing a safe work environment, maintaining a high level of integrity, employment interviewing, training, developing and performance appraisals; customer service; ordering, display rotation, plan-o-gram compliance, controlling shrink, product quality, food safety, sanitation, inventory control, work scheduling; receiving, pricing, stocking, and signing of merchandise; and financial results. Participates with a total team mind set.Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Majority of time spent using independent judgment to make employment-related decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions, to hire, promote, transfer, discipline, suspend, discharge, reward, or otherwise engage in resolving partner-related matters- Oversees the store's Market Department including providing a safe work environment, training, developing and performance appraisals, customer service, ordering, display rotation, controlling shrink, product quality, sanitation, inventory control, work scheduling, receiving, pricing, stocking, and signing of merchandise, and financial results - Participates with a total team mind set- Communicates and models the H-E-B vision- Manages Partner morale and retention- Provides excellent customer service and working with the staff in the department and the entire store, to ensure that H-E-B standards are upheld - Ensures availability of seasonal items- Prepares work schedules for department- Orders product to maintain inventory- Monitors department budget and payroll including product, labor, and wrap expenses- Builds relationships with Customers and builds customer service through Partners- Educates customers one-on-one through passive sampling, hand sampling, demos and classes, suggesting serving combinations, working with events coordinators to establish demo schedules- Designs and executes merchandising and selling programs- Maintains safety/sanitation of equipment and department- Promote division and store events through powerful planning, merchandising and taking advantage of traffic- Achieves sales goals, prepares projections/forecasts, reviews financial tracking information, addresses performance opportunities and budget discrepancies, communicates sales goals to Partners- Achieves gross profit budget by preparing projections/forecasts, controlling inventory, managing and reducing food costs, ensuring the accuracy of invoices, managing the conversion process for perishable shrink, reducing supply usage and managing shrink using DSS- Periodically performs duties of all Market personnel- Provides direction, training, and feedback to all department personnel- Ability to manage USDC-HAACP program- Assists in new product development - Ensures that all government and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration and sanitation are met- Knowledge and ability to train on properly packaging, displaying and merchandising cuts of meat
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE preferred:
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older- Proven leadership experience in a complex environment with multiple direct reports- Knowledge of knives, saws and their usage- Knowledge of specialty meat items and processes- Experience and ability to communicate types/cuts of meat- Knowledge of H-E-B meat cutting techniques and standards- Ability to distinguish cuts of meat and knowledge of cooking different cuts- Knowledge of meat processing equipment/breakdown and assembly- Ability to demonstrate meat cooking techniques- Excellent customer service skills- Proficiency on HEB systems preferred- Excellent communication and organization skills- Knowledge culinary and food processing skills- Experience in ordering, inventory maintenance, and shrink control','!*!Ability to maintain an efficient operation, troubleshoot and report any malfunctions of equipment- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including opening, closing, and weekend shiftsPhysical and Other Requirements - Must be able to function in a fast-paced retail environment- Must be able to lift and carry 80-90 pounds on regular basis up to 500 feet in distance- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side to side throughout shift- Must possess hand/finger dexterity- Must be able to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts- Must be able to work in a cooler environment on a regular basis and in an extreme cold environment on an occasional basis','US-TX-San Antonio','3483 Fredericksburg Rd',' ','San Antonio','78201','Store Operations Leadership','Corporate Region','Standard','Full-time','','Nov 28, 2017','Ongoing','Hourly Meat Manager- Midland TX
