POSITION TITLE:  Lead Person - Assistant Supervisor
REPORTS TO:   Ops Manager
LOCATION:   Dallas, TX
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are currently seeking a lead to support the Non-Ferrous department. Thus position  will assist in supervision and training of all NonFerrous employees. The lead will ensure the team meets safety, quality, production, customer, and housekeeping standards. This is an hourly position with a Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM work schedule. Saturday's and overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Supervise multiple scales, ensure material is being weighed/graded accurately and paperwork is being processed
·         Conduct morning meetings, prioritize the days tasks and assign duties to meet production objectives
·         Monitor inventory, schedule deliveries
·         Communicate with carriers, make sure shipments are picked up and delivered on time
·         Grade inbound loads, make documentation and notify proper recipients
·         Resolve safety issues, submit proper documentation upon completion
·         Complete weekly payroll, handle employee scheduling to ensure no downtime
·         Assisting in supervision of equipment and operator's activities throughout the work day in the department assigned
·         Implement quality requirements designated by consumers on material being shipped outbound
·         Become in depth in knowledge of non-ferrous metals, pricing and enterprise software
·         The training and direct supervision of the non-ferrous metal sorters
·         Communicates with co-workers, supervisors, and other personnel about production issues
·         Troubleshoot production problems and lessen downtime
·         Act as a liaison between management and the crew
·         Able to stand for long periods of time
·         Able to lift up to 50 pounds
·         Work under conditions that are noisy, dusty, hot, and cold
·         Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
·         Able to execute the essential functions and responsibilities of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
·         2 years' experience leading or supervising a team
·         Strong computer skills - MS Office, especially with Email
·         Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
·         Ability to work as a team player under minimal supervisor in a fast paced environment
·         Problem Solving- work through operational issues and minimize downtime
·         Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
Preferred
·         Bilingual – English/Spanish
·         2 years' experience in a recycling/manufacturing environment
 
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required, some college preferred.
