Ensure that each customer receives a copy of accurate invoices and supporting documentation pertaining to each load entered. Assist both internal and external customers with questions pertaining to customer accounts and freight invoice creation and requirements. Analyze all loads to insure that all outbound billing is accurate and that all revenue discrepancies are corrected. Attempt to collect all unpaid and past due account balances from customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and load all billing information received into the AS400 systems. Submit accurate billing invoices to customers for payment on all open balances.

Inform customers of current and/or outstanding invoices by using the GETPAID program. Attempt to collect all unpaid and past due balances on customer accounts.

Answer all customers’ questions regarding account and balances due. Provide reports on specific accounts to customers and internal management for clarity when needed.

Ensure that all carrier and customer rates are loaded in the system per contractual agreements. Review all load invoices for revenue discrepancies and determine if outbound billing is accurate and if adjustments such as credits or rebills need to be made based on these set rates. Process all needed adjustments. Add or remove accessorial charges as needed.

Forwards all checks received to Cash Applications department for application.

Communicate with other departments within USX to ensure that all needed information is available for all outbound billing.

Assist both internal and external customers with questions regarding freight invoice preparation and requirements.

May prepare manual invoices outside the normal AS400 invoice creation process for wages, equipment, bonuses, etc as needed.



High school diploma or equivalent required.


1-3 years of applicable experience in billing and/or collections required (emphasis on billing).


Customer service experience beneficial.

Proficient use of computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

this job operates in a normal professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and fax machines, and filing cabinets.

This is an hourly position with a paygrade of HR07.
