Lawrence Convention Center. The candidate will be assigned to maintain all plumbing components in the facility and ensures that they are in good working condition, including but not limited to; water service, pipelines, valves, pumps, kitchen and restroom fixtures, drain lines, kitchen grease interceptor, natural gas service, gas lines, gas valves, kitchen equipment connections and emergency shutoffs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
Repairs and maintains all facility plumbing systems and equipment.
Investigates malfunctions or breakdowns of plumbing components and systems to locate the source of the problem and implement corrective actions.
Regularly inspects plumbing systems throughout facility to detect potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services.
Operates auxiliary supply systems when a breakdown occurs.
Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when conditions require it.
Follows procedures for use of Work Orders and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Computerized Maintenance Manager Systems (CMMS).
Assembles and securing pipes, fittings and tubes according to specifications by brazing, welding, cementing and threading joints.
Install and remove equipment for water and compressed air service for exhibitors based on event orders.
Adheres to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes, as well as **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. job safety requirements.
Monitor all plumbing supply inventory to ensure availability.
Maintain all equipment used and return to designated storage areas. Perform any and all cleaning of equipment after every use and as necessary to ensure good working order.
Careful operation and proper care of mechanized equipment including, but not limited to, heavy duty pick-up truck w/snow plow and riding utility carts
Operation of aerial platform equipment only when necessary and authorized by Management.
Adhere to DLCC sustainability and safety standards and protocols.
Interact with all DLCC Customers and Clients in a professional and courteous manner

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Plumber. Candidate will be required join Plumbers Local Union 27 completion of 90-day probationary period. Experience with building operations preferred. Customer Service and interaction experience. Experienced safe operation of mechanized and power equipment preferred.
Prior certification on powered equipment preferred with the ability to obtain future employer sponsored operation certifications per OSHA standards
Must have sufficient computer skills to learn and operate software such as Ungerboeck and Altum and use these programs as the primary means of understanding work assignments/details related to events and preventative maintenance. Basic ability to use MS Outlook, and Word is also required.

Physical Demands:
Requires frequent walking/standing (possibly uneven surfaces), climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, working in cramped positions reaching, pushing, pulling, driving, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis
Ability to frequently and safely climb and navigate stairs, use of escalators and elevators
Good eye and hand coordination and reflexes for the safe operation of equipment
Good visual acuity with or without corrective lenses
Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse on a computer
Work Environment:
This position requires work inside and/or outside of the building, as needed by events and is subjected to changing climate and adverse weather conditions.
The worker is subjected to noise. Noise levels will vary depending on job task and events in the building.
Knowledge of safe operation of tools, such as sharp wheel cutters, reamers, drills, gas cutting torches, and benders, and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts & boom lifts

Must be able to work flexible shift/schedule including weekends and holidays.
